Patrick Wilson has secured a role in the upcoming DC Comics movie adaptation of Aquaman, that stars Jason Momoa as the title character.
The underrated actor will play ORM (aka Ocean Master), who is the villainous brother of Aquaman (think of the Thor/Loki relationship).
I’m a big fan of Wilson, so it’s good to see him getting a role in a massive blockbuster.
James Wan is directing this film, and the actor and director have worked together on past occasions in both of Wan’s Conjuring films, which were both successes.
Aquaman was briefly featured in this year’s Batman v Superman, along with a look at the character in the first trailer for Justice League (2017), which was also released earlier this year.
Along with Wilson and Momoa, the film also stars Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe and is due for release in October 2018.
With the addition of Wilson to the cast and Australian director James Wan at the helm, this is definitely one to get excited about.
We’ll keep you posted on new casting updates for this film as they emerge.
Aquaman is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting in Queensland, Australia in early 2017.
