Mountain is a stunning look into the enormous rock formations that people risk their lives to climb on a regular basis, narrated by Willem Dafoe.
The documentary explores our love for the gigantic natural structures and the lengths we go to to scale them, often at the risk of death.
Judging by the trailer for the film below, Mountain looks like it will be truely epic, with some outstanding (and possibly terrifying for some) visuals.
The film is directed by Jennifer Peedom, the acclaimed director of Sherpa (2015), written by best-selling author Robert Macfarlane and shot by the some of the world’s best adventure cinematographers – and it shows in the trailer.
Mountan is a cinematic and musical collaboration between Peedom and the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO), which is meant to be one of the greatest chamber orchestras in the world.
The film will be screening LIVE with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in Melbourne between 3-20 August 2017 and you can book tickets here to get the full experience.
It will also screen as part of the Sydney Film Festival on 17-18 June 2017 and you can book tickets for those sessions here.
The film releases Australia-wide on 21 September 2017, check out the awesome trailer below.
