Star Wars timelines, past and present, collide in the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special streaming exclusively on Disney+.
The film follows the events of The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and sees Rey and BB-8 embark on a journey through time, encountering the multitude of iconic characters that make up the Star Wars universe.
Popular characters from the recent trilogy of films, Finn, Poe, Chewbacca, and Rose all feature, along with classic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan, and new fan favourites, The Mandalorian and The Child aka Baby Yoda also appear!
This Holiday Special already looks like a major improvement over the first Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), which is universally recognized as one of the worst pieces of media to have ever been created.
It features the humor and sensibilities that come with the films tied to the LEGO brand, like The LEGO Movie (2014) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017), both of which were a hoot.
Overall, the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special looks like it will be a laugh-out-loud affair, one that is self-referential and doesn’t take itself seriously at all.
It drops exclusively on Disney+ on 17 November and if you haven’t signed up to Disney’s awesome streaming service yet, please check out our affiliate link here, or click below!
