A new trailer for The Lego Batman Movie has been released, giving us more of a look at the humour to be expected in the Caped Crusader’s next outing.
This could very well end up being one of the best iterations of Batman we’ve seen on the big screen.
Director Chris McKay and the filmmakers behind this film appear to have nailed the tongue-in-cheek humour, and Will Arnett’s gruff voice suits the DC Comics hero perfectly.
The Lego Batman Movie will poke fun at the seriousness of Batman’s character, in an attempt to get him to lighten up and embrace working with others.
Even though it’s in animated form, this film could be a nice change of pace compared to the recent, super-grounded versions we’ve been getting of the character on film.
For as long as Batman’s been around, there’s always been a bit of a silly side to the character and the colourful villains based in that world, and it seems this film will adopt those elements, and then some.
The film comes to us from the creators of the super-popular The Lego Movie (2014), so anyone that’s seen that will know what to expect from it, and know that they’ll be in for a good time.
The film features an outstanding voice cast that includes Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Jenny Slate, Zach Galifianakis, Ralph Fiennes and Rosario Dawson amongst others.
The Lego Batman Movie is due to hit cinemas on 10 February 2017 in the USA.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
