Jude Law and Carrie Coon play a bitter married couple who are forced to come to terms with the state of their relationship once they discover some painful truths in The Nest.
Law plays Rory, a successful entrepreneur who moves his family back to his native England to further his career and continue living a life of luxury.
His American wife, Allison (Carrie Coon), begrudgingly agrees and once the pair arrive in their new home with their kids, tensions begin to boil.
Secrets are revealed causing a rift between the couple, potentially leading to devastating consequences.
Jude Law and Carrie Coon both look excellent in this tense thriller film, the pair having a destructive chemistry which works well on screen.
The trailer doesn’t give too much away, thankfully, as this is the type of film you want to go into knowing as little as possible, as there is sure to be an unexpected twist or shocking revelation at some point in the film.
The Nest is directed by Sean Durkin, who directed the disturbing, tense, and engaging drama film Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011).
It’s taken nine years for Durkin to follow that film up and it looks like it could be worth the wait, as The Nest appears to have a lot going for it.
The casting is fantastic and the film is almost certain to leave viewers feeling uneasy after watching it.
It’s currently scheduled to arrive in theatres on 18 September 2020.
