First Trailer for ‘The Grinch’ Starring Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch the grinch

The first trailer for Illumination Studios’ animated film The Grinch has dropped, featuring the voice talent of Benedict Cumberbatch.

For anyone that’s been living under a rock, Illumination Studios is the team responsible for films such as Despicable Me (2010), The Secret Life of Pets (2016) and Sing (2016)amongst others.

The animation powerhouse’ latest film The Grinch features the in-demand star Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role, playing the classic miserable character out to destroy Christmas.

The first trailer plays out more like a short-film, as it doesn’t give anything away in the terms of the plot, but rather choosing to focus on the Grinch’s mischievous lifestyle.

Like Illumination’s past films, The Grinch will likely follow with the same style of humour fans have become used to; humour for all ages.

Jim Carrey famously played The Grinch in the film of the same name back in 2000, in what was a somewhat disturbing portrayal of the character, but in a surprisingly entertaining film.

The completely animated next take on the character, created by legendary children’s author Dr. Seuss will hit cinemas on 29 November 2018, and will likely be a hit.

It’s directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier, with more cast members to be announced.

Check out the trailer below.
