A trailer for the upcoming surveillance-thriller film The Good Neighbor has just been released, starring veteran actor James Caan.
A couple of nosey teens attempt to spook a loner, hermit-type character (Caan) by planting cameras and various contraptions in his house which they can remotely control, in order to get him to believe that the house is haunted, but it seems what they uncover may ultimately have dire consequences for them.
After only seeing the trailer, I already want these kids to get what’s coming to them, in this unique mashup of a found-footage/horror/thriller film.
It’s interesting seeing one of the best actors of his generation in James Caan attached to this film, considering it’s just a low-budget indie, but his presence definitely gives the film some credibility, making me want to see it even more.
For anyone that may be unaware, Caan has been acting for over fifty years now, with high profile turns in movies such as The Godfather, Misery and Thief.
How the filmmakers nabbed this actor is beyond me, but is a huge boost for the film.
The Good Neighbor is directed by Kasra Farahani, who’s making their directorial debut here after making a career for themselves mostly as a concept artist for many big-budget Hollywood films.
The film is due out 16 September 2016 in the USA.
IMDB Synopsis:
A pair of high school kids try to trick a neighbor into thinking a house is haunted, but their intended victim turns out to be far more dangerous than they imagined.
