Funnyman Eddie Murphy returns as Prince Akeem in the new sequel film Coming 2 America, and this time the antics take place in his home country.
Murphy reprises one of his most well known roles as the sequel to Coming to America (1988) sees him find out that he has a son in America, who he takes back home to Africa to groom as his heir.
Cultures collide in hilarious fashion when his son gets a taste of life in the royal palace.
It’s taken more than three decades to see a sequel to the comedy movie classic Coming to America so fans should be giddy right about now.
Murphy plays multiple characters again, and a lot of the original cast including Arsenio Hall, John Amos, and James Earl Jones are returning.
They’ll be joined by new cast members, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and Wesley Snipes.
And much like the first film, Coming 2 America will feature themes around the importance of family, and keeping strong bonds.
While it seems impossible that this sequel will reach the status of the original, it does look like a genuine good time based on the new trailer below.
It will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from 5 March 2021.
