The official trailer for the upcoming Will Smith film Collateral Beauty has been released; a film that may leave you in tears or squirming in your seat.
Collateral Beauty sees a father (Smith) visited by the apparitions of Time, Love and Death after writing letters to them as a grieving process after losing his child.
The entities will help him get his life back on track as he struggles to cope with life in his current state.
The film looks like a huge schmaltz-fest and that aspect is definitely intentional.
It’s a film that sets out to evoke emotion in viewers and it will probably work, but for others it may just have them rolling their eyes.
The official trailer for the film sets the tone on what to expect and it seems like the filmmakers have hit the mark on achieving the emotional impact, so filmgoers interested in those types of films should be in for a treat.
Collateral Beauty comes to us from Oscar-winning director David Frankel and features an all-star cast that includes Will Smith, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Peña, Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.
Check it out when it hits Australian cinemas on 2 January 2017.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
When a successful New York advertising executive (Will Smith) experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely, his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way.
