Trailer for Clint Eastwood’s Latest – ‘The 15:17 to Paris’

Clint Eastwood is back as director of a film based on a true story, The 15:17 to Paris, which has some unique casting choices, to say the least.

The film tells the true story of 3 young Americans who thwarted a terrorist attack on a train destined for Paris in 2015.

The unique casting choices I speak of is Eastwood’s decision to cast the actual real-life heroes in the lead role, playing themselves.

While this may add to the authenticity of the story and visuals we’ll see on the screen, I can’t imagine casting non-actors is a good idea for any feature film.

While the three heroic citizens; Anthony Sadler, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Spencer Stone may have received some formal acting training, their casting is still a risky move.

I’m sure Eastwood has thought this through and made an informed decision, though we’ll have to wait until 8 February 2018 to find out.

The film follows the life stories of the three men in the lead-up to the news-making event, as well as the event itself.

The trailer gives us a decent look at what to expect, and The 15:17 to Paris comes across as a part-thriller, part-biographical film.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think about this weird casting decision by the veteran actor/director.
