‘The Boss Baby’ – Teaser Trailer for New Animated Comedy

baby

The trailer for the new animated film The Boss Baby, starring Alec Baldwin as a character crossed between Jack Donaghy and Stewie from Family Guy.

He is of course voicing the character of the baby, who gets around wearing a suit, and can speak fluent English.

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one immediately reminded of Stewie from Family Guy – the ultra-intelligent baby with plans for world domination – but then when you hear the baby talk, it’s all Jack Donaghy, the corporate business mogul out of 30 Rock.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much, except that the current only-child of the family gets a new visitor in the way of a new brother, and then their rivalry begins.

The film comes from Dreamworks Animation, the studio behind huge animated film-franchises like the Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon series’, which means this upcoming film will surely be highly anticipated by animated film fans.

Dreamworks, like its competitor Pixar, is essentially a money-making machine, with virtually all of their films turning in a profit.

With Alex Baldwin on board, and a supporting cast that includes Lisa Kudrow and Steve Buscemi, The Boss Baby will very likely follow the same money-making trend, but it also looks pretty cool.

We’ll have to wait until we see a full trailer for the film to get a better idea of the humour though, before it’s safe to make a judgement.

The Boss Baby is directed by Tom McGrath, the director of Dreamworks’ Megamind and Madagascar films, and is due for release on 31 March 2017 in the USA.
