The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart takes a deep look at the iconic band that conquered the music world.
The Bee Gees became synonymous with disco music following their work on the Saturday Night Fever (1977) soundtrack, with hits like “Stayin’ Alive” and “How Deep Is Your Love” that catapulted the band into international mega-stardom.
The new documentary film from director/producer Frank Marshall charts the band’s journey from their formative years in the mid 1950s, to a career that saw them reach the highest highs of the music industry, and go on to become one of the best-selling artists of all time.
The Bee Gees’ journey was not one without some personal tragedy, however, with the super-tight-knit band of brothers facing several losses over the years.
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart offers an in-depth look at the band and its music and features interviews with artists that the band inspired, such as Justin Timberlake, and Chris Martin of Coldplay.
The remaining member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, also features in what is sure to me an insightful, emotional recollection of his time in the band, and his relationship with his brothers.
The film is a must-watch for all Bee Gees fans, and one for all music lovers interested in learning about one of the most influential, and successful artists of all time.
It releases in cinemas on 3 December 2020.
