A trailer for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me has just been released. It’s more of a teaser than anything, but we’re looking forward to it.
All Eyez on Me will tell the life story of the late Tupac Shakur – the rap superstar of the 90’s who changed the face of rap forever.
Any rap fan knows the name of Tupac and his impact on the rap music genre.
Tupac’s feud with Biggie Smalls (his NYC rap counterpart) has also been widely publicised, so it will be interesting to see how it’s covered in the film.
The film is directed by Benny Boom (Wild for the Night) and stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. in his debut role as Tupac.
Shipp Jr.’s likeness to Tupac is eery, however whether or not Shipp Jr. has the acting chops to do Tupac justice is yet to be seen, as the trailer doesn’t reveal any lines from the actor at all.
The trailer doesn’t show much, however we can see that it will be a serious take on the man and the era he was alive in and it looks like it has a similar tone to the super-successful NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
The film is scheduled for a release on 11 November 2016 in the USA, but no word as yet for a local release date.
Check out the trailer below.
