Bong Joon Ho’s Okja is set to further ignite the never-ending ethical debate between meat-eaters and non-meat eaters around the world.
A young girl and group of animal activists attempt to rescue Okja, a new hybrid dog/pig/hippo species targeted by a corporation for its tasty meat.
The film looks like it will be full of action and adventure, with a touching story of friendship and underlying themes about consumption and the ethical dilemma of farming animals for food.
The film looks great judging by this first full trailer, and considering it’s coming from the unique creative mind of Bong Joon Ho, the popular Korean director of Snowpiercer (2013) and The Host (2006), we should be in for a treat.
Okja features an outstanding cast headed by South Korean child actress Ahn Seo-hyun, with Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lily Collins, Steven Yeun and Giancarlo Esposito also starring.
The film is set to be released exclusively on Netflix on 28 June 2017, check out the full trailer below.
